Tredegar Film Products will expand its North American capacity for elastic laminates for personal care applications. In response to increased demand for elastic laminate products in adult incontinence and baby care products, the company will expand and modernize one of its existing lines in Terre Haute, IN to enable production of its FlexAire products. Tredegar expects this additional capacity to be fully operational by the end of the second quarter of 2015. “Our customers have been overwhelmingly positive about our new product launches under the FlexAire brand. These new products offer innovative features that respond to growing consumer demand for higher softness, better fit, comfort and breathability,” says Alvaro Vaselli, vice president of Consumer Care. “Tredegar Film Products has a track record of supplying innovative high-quality personal care products, and we continue to see exciting growth opportunities in this business segment.” “Across Tredegar Film Products, we are seeing growth opportunities in each of our key businesses, driven by positive market dynamics, strong new products and continued leadership in quality, delivery and service,” says Mary Jane Hellyar, president of Tredegar Film Products. “Our new FlexAire elastic products continue in this tradition, creating increased value for both our customers and the end consumer.” Tredegar introduced FlexAire elastic laminates in 2008. The company describes them as laminates for large area applications such as baby diaper ears, side panels and adult incontinence garments. They are available in different levels of stretch and can be adjusted to fit the application.
